Special Vietnamese Style Drinks

If you are a fan of soft drink, I bet you will also like Plum Soda and Soda Lemonade that I have talked about in the previous blog. They take a little bit of work but believe me their taste is one level better than any of the soft drinks out there. Yet, it also depends on whether you mix them good or not. If you don't have time to make it at home, try to buy these drinks from any Vietnamese restaurants, they should have them. In this blog, I'm going to show you how to do Soda Milk Egg and Orange Mint Tea.
Yes, and again, you can not find these drinks anywhere else besides a Vietnamese restaurant. How does it taste? Soda Milk Egg taste honestly funny to those who is new to it. But it has been said to have a special benefit as a highly protein drink. Especially for those who works out a lot, this drink is absolutely the one you need to recover your strength after consuming a large amount of energy. And it's easy to make too! All you need is an egg, blank soda, and condense milk. But you don't use all of the egg, try to eliminate the transparent part and take the red part only. You are going to mix the red part of the egg and the condense milk. You have to stir them thoroughly well. Now fill the glass of your mix with ice, and pour the blank soda in. Stir it well again, and enjoy your new drink! Each of the day you work out, you should drink a Soda Milk Egg and you'll see the result.
Not like Soda Milk Egg, Orange Mint Tea tastes perfectly good. It is one sweet and sour jasmine mint tea. If you want to try something new and different, this is exactly the one. How to do Orange Mint Tea. It's not hard, but it takes some works. First, you need to have jasmine tea. Buy it from any asian market, put them inside a tea pot, about 1/3 of the pot, and fill up with hot water. While waiting for the tea, you need to squeeze some oranges, lemons to get their juice. I use lemon to mix because sometime oranges are not sour enough. Also prepare and cut the mint leaves into tiny pieces. Now you are ready to mix them. The amount of orange juice should be double the amount of lemon juice when mix. Lets mix them all together: orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, mints, water and jasmine tea.. The proceed is: 1 cub of orange juice mix with 1/2 cup of lemon juice and mint. After that, keep adjusting the taste by adding sugar, water and jasmine tea until you think you are done. Remember to use a filter to pour out the tea and eliminate the tea leaves. If you really work on it, you will get better really fast. I recommend that every time you make this drink, mix them in a big mug! It does not consume a lot of oranges and lemons, because a large portion of the mix is water and jasmine tea. After you finish, put the mug in the refrigerator and enjoy it for the whole week with your friends and family.

Tired of soft drinks? Wanna try something else? Terrific drink with carbonated taste?

My name is Thai Luong. I've been working in some Vietnamese restaurants for about 1 year. While I'm working there, I realize that there are so many good foods and drinks a lot of people out there never try before. So I want to share you some of my experiences and show you how to make some good, fresh and new drinks. Special drinks that you'll never find anywhere else besides Vietnamese restaurants. It's very simple and feeds your thirst well.
The first drink I would like to share you here is my favorite one: Plum Soda. This is a very highly carbonated drink compares to any other soft drink. How does it taste? Fresh, salty, a little sour and sweet. If you have your ingredients ready, you can make this drink in less than 1 minute! The ingredients are: plum can (available in any asian market), blank soda can and sugar. All you have to do is mix them together: 2 to 3 plums, plum juice, sugar, ice and then soda comes last. Stir your mix, and enjoy the drink!
Now that you know how to do Plum Soda, you should also know how to make Soda lemonade. The proceed is basically the same but instead of plums you use lemons.  It tastes exactly like Lemonade but extremely carbonated. I bet you have tried soft drinks like 7-up, Sprites, and Mist... They are all soda lemonades generally speaking but they are not. You should drink a mix of lemon juice, sugar, ice with blank soda all together and compare with those soft drinks. You will see a big different! It has deeper taste and more fresh. The trick is you don't pour the blank soda into the glass of ice, sugar and lemon juice until when you're really going to drink it. Plum Soda uses the same trick.
These 2 drinks are my favorite ones. In my restaurant, they are very popular. I hope you will try and enjoy them. There are more coming in the next blogs: Soda Milk Egg, Avocado Pennyworth Milkshake, Orange Mint Tea, 3 colors bean and more...
